Xingyang-Gongyi Mining Area are embraced in State plans，its main workable coal seam is B1 coal seam with an average thickness of 4.30m, and the geological distribution is stable. The coal belongs to anthracite with characters of low-mid ash, Ultra-low-sulfur, low phosphor, mid-high calorific value, high fusion ash, easily grinded and good thermal stability. The coal quality is good and can meets the requirements of power plant；The coal reserves of B1 is 3.646 billion tons. The first phase construction includes building two mines, one with annual capacity of 1.2 million tons and another 1.5 million tons; the second phase will build a coalmine with annual capacity of 2.7 million tons.

In order to meet the needs of electric power increase of Zhengzhou City, and in accord with related national industrial policies on coal-fired power plant, to make reasonably use of resources and implement the integration of coal-electricity, China Guodian Corporation, Hebi Coal Group and Zhengzhou Baoxiang Electric Power Installation Corporation has jointly established Guodian Xingyang Coal-Electricity Integration Co., Ltd. The joint venture plans to build its first phase project 2×600MW Power Plant. Meanwhile, in order to heighten the integrated developing and utilizing level of coal resources of Xingyang, Hebi Coal Group and Guodian Xingyang Coal-Electricity Integration Co., Ltd. jointly invested and established Hemei Guodian Xingyang Energy Co., Ltd. to develop and construct coal and electricity in Xinggong coal area.

Investment estimation and analysis of economic benefits
The total investment for coal mine construction in the mining area is 2.47975 billion yuan, the annual sales income of coal is 1.2075 billion yuan, and annual after-tax profit is 241.5 million yuan.

Progress of the project
In Apr. 2006, established Guodian Xingyang Coal-Electricity Integration Co., Ltd. jointly with China Guodian Corporation and Zhengzhou Baoxiang Electric Power Installation Corporation, and jointly invested and established Hemei Guodian Xingyang Energy Co., Ltd. with Guodian Xingyang Coal-Electricity Integration Co., Ltd. to develop and construct coal and electricity in Xinggong coal area.
