The project started in Jan. 2005, planning a total investment of 2.59 billion yuan, and construction period three years. The project will use Hebi coal as raw materials to produce methanol, and chose the world's advanced devices of Shell coal gasification technology. The methanol unit uses Rectisol technology to remove acidic gases, adopts low pressure synthesis technology, and use membrane separation technology for hydrogen recovery; Sulfur recovery unit adopts three-stage Claus sulphur recovery process; air-separation unit（ASU）uses liquid oxygen pump driven internal compression process. After completion of the project, the average annual sales income is about 985.71 million yuan (taxation included), average annual sales tax 120.32 million yuan, average annual total profit 309.66 million yuan. Commissioning of the project gets underway, and recently will be put into production.
