The project adopts industrial equipment with coal as raw materials to produce methanol, the products can meet national standard and American AA grade. The annual output will be 600,000 tons. The project mainly adopts the technology including dry pulverized coal gasification, Sulfur tolerant shift, Rectisol technology for desulfuration and decarbonization, shell-and-tube process of methanol synthesis, three-tower rectification, membrane technology of hydrogen recovery, Claus and Clinsulf-Do sulfur recovery, refrigeration with liquid ammonia vaporizing of centrifugal ammonia compressor. Construction period of the project is three years.
Construction contents: methanol unit with annual capacity of 600,000 tons, 2×34000 Nm3/h air separation unit, 2×25MW thermal power station, auxiliary, public, service and other projects outside the production plant. Production processing: coal preparation, gasification, conversion, desulfuration and decarbonization, compressing, methanol synthesis, methanol rectification and gets final products of methanol.

Investment estimation and economic benefits
The total investment is 2.5 billion yuan. After the project is finished and put into production, the annual productive value will be 1.2 billion yuan, and the annual average profits shall reach 355.01 million yuan.

Progress of the project
The construction of the project started on Dec. 26, 2007, the full construction has been operative, and the main equipment has been ordered.
